Keep on glowing
- Store Safely: Keep your jewelry away from perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, and sanitizers. These chemicals can cause dullness and tarnishing over time. Place your jewelry in the original Breindell box or the soft-lined Breindell pouch. Avoid leaving pieces out where they can tangle or tarnish.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your jewelry away from perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, and sanitizers. These chemicals can cause dullness and tarnishing over time.
- Remove Before Activities: For the best preservation, remove your jewelry before swimming, exercising, or sleeping. Contact with sweat and water can cause wear and tarnish, particularly with sterling silver.
- Wipe After Wear: Gently wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth after each use to remove oils, dirt, or moisture that may have accumulated.
14k gold is designed for durability and timelessness. With a little care, your gold jewelry can maintain its brilliance and remain as stunning as the day you first wore it.
To keep your gold pieces shining:
- Soak in warm water with mild soap (fragrance-free), then gently brush with a soft-bristled brush to remove dirt from hard-to-reach places. Avoid commercial jewelry dips, as they may strip away detail and can even cause damage.
- Dry fully. Polish with a jewelry cloth designed for gold, to restore shine.
- Store individually to prevent scratches. Gold is soft, and Breindell uses no fillers or plating. Gold naturally develops fine surface scratches over time with use, which add character to the piece. If desired, a professional jeweler can refinish your item to restore its original shine.
- Use a polishing cloth designed for sterling silver (we recommend reusable, non-abrasive ones).
- Store individually to prevent scratches, in original Breindell pouch, and/or box when not in use.
- Clean with a gentle mix of warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap. Dry completely before storing.
- Patina, the natural darkening of silver over time, is normal and even desired by many as it adds character and nuance. But with regular care, you can keep it sparkling.
Everyday is a special occasion, and the perfect day for you to wear your Breindell jewelry!
- If you wear your Breindell jewelry daily, a quick cleaning ritual each week will keep it looking its best. Wipe it down with a soft cloth, and take a moment to inspect for any loose stones or damage to clasps.
- This ritual helps preserve both the shine and structural integrity of your piece.
We recommend removing jewelry before showering. Exposure to water and soap can cause wear, especially with sterling silver.
Yes. Regular polishing, with a non-abrasive jewelry polishing cloth, and proper storage can help prevent tarnish.
Keep your silver pieces in its original Breindell packaging to help avoid exposing them to moisture or dust.
Light scratches are natural over time. For sterling silver, regular polishing will keep it bright. For gold, a professional refinish can restore its shine.
